Dominic Cooper

Cooper graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in 2000 and started landing acting jobs right away, quickly nabbing a role in The History Boys on the West End. He lived with costar James Corden throughout the production before traveling with the cast to perform on Broadway, in Sydney and more.

He made his mark in films starting in 2008 when he played Sky in Mamma Mia! opposite Amanda Seyfried — a role he reprised in the 2018 sequel — and made waves in The Duchess (2008) and My Week with Marilyn (2011).

The Brit is most well-known for playing Howard Stark in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) and the Marvel TV series Agent Carter (2015 to 2016). He also starred as Jesse Custer in AMC’s supernatural series Preacher for four seasons, starting in 2016. He was an executive producer on the last two seasons.

Cooper was linked to Amanda Seyfried for a year after the first Mamma Mia! movie was released. He was then in a relationship with actress Ruth Negga for several years until their 2016 split. He started dating fellow Marvel actress Gemma Chan in 2018.
