Jason Segel

Actor Jason Segel was born January 18, 1980. In high school, 6-foot-4 Segel’s height made him a natural on the basketball team, but he gravitated toward acting and appeared in productions at the Palisades Playhouse.
His big break as an actor came when he was cast in Judd Apatow‘s cult TV show Freaks and Geeks. The show did not last long on the NBC lineup, but it did earn raves from critics. After Freaks and Geeks, Segel bounced around in different roles until his next big break in 2005, when he landed the role of Marshall on the CBS show How I Met Your Mother.
With the success of his new TV series, Segel teamed up again with Apatow in the movie Knocked Up. Then, in 2008, Segel landed the lead role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, which he wrote after being inspired by a real-life relationship.
Segel’s other film and TV credits include Gulliver’s Travels, Despicable Me, The Muppets, Bad Teacher, Friends With Benefits and Get Him to the Greek.
