
Dominic Sessa
Dominic Sessa is an American actor best known for his breakout role in The Holdovers. Sessa was raised by his mother in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey. He attended Deerfield Academy, where he played ice hockey before sustaining an injury that led him to pursue acting. He began performing in school theater productions and, after graduating, he enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama to further pursue his craft.
Sessa’s rise to fame came quickly when he was cast in The Holdovers (2023), directed by Alexander Payne, marking his first major film role. He starred opposite Paul Giamatti and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, earning widespread attention for his performance as a troubled boarding school student. The role earned him a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer, establishing him as a breakout newcomer in Hollywood.
Following his debut, Sessa has been closely watched as an emerging talent. He went on to star in projects like Tow (2025), Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (2025) and Oh. What. Fun. (2025), sharing the screen with stars including Michelle Pfeiffer and Rose Byrne. In 2026, it was announced that he is set to star in the Anthony Bourdain biopic Tony.
