It might still be winter, but Demi Lovato has no problem showing off her body in the sunshine! The "Heart Attack" singer, 22, posted several inspirational pictures on Instagram on Friday, Feb. 27, embracing her physique.
The first showed Lovato riding a cycle bike covered in sweat and looking fresh-faced.
"Don't train to be skinny, train to be a #badass #healthy #fitness #selflove," she captioned the pic.
The former Disney star's hard work at the gym paid off because soon after she shared a bikini shot featuring her flat stomach and toned muscles.
"Regardless of what society tells you these days… You don't have to have a thigh gap to be beautiful," she captioned the image. "It is possible to love your body the way it is. #fitness #health #acceptance#selflove."
Lovato has long been open about her struggles with eating disorders and other mental health issues, including self harm. In recent years she has worked hard to be healthy.
"It's been difficult. I almost went back to rehab for my eating disorder last summer. I was obsessing over food and terrified of it at the same time. Wilmer [Valderrama, her boyfriend] noticed and called me out on it, which was a relief," Lovato told Fitness magazine in December. "I was done being afraid of food and so tired of overeating and not knowing why I did it. Now I'm on a structured meal plan. I eat four small meals and two snacks a day. It's teaching me portion control."
