First there was Justin Jedlica, and now…meet Rodrigo Alves! Dubbed “Human Ken Doll” for his immense plastic surgery — to the tune of $250,000! — London-based Alves tells Us Weekly he has traveled the world in his pursuit of the perfect face and body. And after four nose jobs, a jaw reconstruction, cheek and chin fillers, eye lifts, and five liposuction treatments, among countless other maintenance procedures, the 31-year-old flight attendant tells Us he is “truly happy” with his look.

Undergoing surgery to correct gynecomastia (swelling of breast tissue in men) at age 17, Alves tells Us that his plastic surgeries started in earnest at age 20. Alves was bullied as a kid and said his extreme makeover was never an effort to look like a Ken Doll; instead, he’s using his newfound notoriety to tell his story and encourage body confidence. “People started to nickname me, but it doesn’t bother me — I have fun with it,” he explained via email from Colombia, where he is recovering from a five-in-one procedure. “After all, Ken portrays the perfect male body form.”

Alves — who has a degree in public relations and speaks five languages — underwent his most recent surgeries on Jan. 23 in Colombia after doctors in Los Angeles, Miami and Dubai declined to take him on as a patient. Three doctors performed Alves’ latest treatments, which included a rhinoplasty that took six hours. In the past, Alves has undergone more unique cosmetic procedures, including having stem cells injected into his scalp to increase hair growth and in his skin to hinder aging. Next on his list: Trading up for pectoral implants this summer.

An avid Instagram user, Alves frequently hashtags his posts with #plasticpositive, and tells Us he isn’t worried about public perception. “Plastic surgery has changed my life. I am much more confident and happy today,” he says. “There are a lot of trolls online and people’s opinion hasn’t had an impact at all.” Alves also works as an image consultant for men, and calls his side career giving back to others “rewarding.”

One opinion Alves does value: the American “Human Ken Doll,” Justin Jedlica, whom Alves calls a close friend. “Once I became known as the ‘Human Ken Doll’ in the UK, I contacted him via Facebook to ask him how dealt with the nickname,” Alves tells Us, adding that the duo met up recently in Los Angeles while Alves was filming his upcoming reality show. “Justin is perfect — I adore him!”
