Raise your hand if you want to party with the Queen! Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was the place to be on Tuesday, Jan. 27, when Queen Latifah let loose with pals by the pool at Hotel Fasano.
The rapper-turned-actress, 44, looked to be having the time of her life as she soaked up the sun in a bright turquoise bikini. Photos show her wading into the shallow end of the pool and rinsing off under an outdoor shower.
At one point, the former talk show host grabbed a friend for an impromptu dance party. Covered up in green shorts and a loose black tank, she got her groove on between lounge chairs, all the while laughing and waving her hands in the air like she just didn’t care.
The Last Holiday star seems to be in good spirits following the recent cancellation of her eponymous talk show. Sony Pictures confirmed last November that program would not be returning after its second season, which premiered in September.
Following the news, Latifah took to Facebook with a self-addressed note. “Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The Queen Latifah Show off the ground and running,” she wrote.
“Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed ‘True Grit!'” the note continued. “Your Family, Partners, Staff, and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same.”
