Valerie Bertinelli's going to be a bride again!
The actress, 50, is engaged to businessman Tom Vitale, as she reveals in the June issue of AARP The Magazine.
"I've never had a male friend like I have with Tom," she gushes to the magazine of Vitale, who she has been dating for nearly six years.
Vitale explains to AARP that he proposed during a romantic trip to Italy. "We're both still a little afraid of commitment, but then we were over there, and it was like our souls were calibrated…If the timing wasn’t right, I wouldn't have asked."
It's the second marriage for Bertinelli, who filed for divorce from rocker Eddie Van Halen in 2005 after nearly 25 years together. They have a 19-year-old son, Wolfgang.
Last year, the Jenny Craig spokeswoman announced that she had lost 50 pounds from her 5-foot-4 frame.
"If my life wasn’t starting to turn around, I couldn't have welcomed [Vitale] into it," Bertinelli tells AARP of her transformation.
Adds Vitale: "We just understood each other completely…My family is her family. It wasn't love at first sight; it was family at first sight."
