“We still use first names. It’s still in style!” Rodriguez told Us Weekly at the Jeep Wrangler Celebrity Customs Reveal Event in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 25.
The retired New York Yankees player, 43, shares Natasha, 13, and Ella, 10, with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Lopez, 49, coparents 10-year-old twins Max and Emma with her former husband Marc Anthony.
Rodriguez admitted that his girls are taking advantage of cool perks that come with Lopez. “I think they enjoy going to the shows and getting free tickets!” the athlete quipped.
The couple — known to fans as J. Rod — first stepped out together in March 2017 and have been inseparable ever since. So it should come as no surprise that the athlete will be there when Lopez performs her final concert dates for her Las Vegas headlining residency this month.
“It’s very, very exciting. We’ve had incredible people show up from literally all over the world,” he gushed. “Selena Gomez was there, Jessica Alba — Kobe Bryant’s coming in this weekend. It’s been so much fun and it’s such a celebration of her work.”
In August, the singer called Rodriguez her “twin soul” while accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. “We’re like mirror images of each other,” she continued “You know, my life is sweeter and better with you in it because you make me realize that every day, the sky is not the limit.”
In the speech she also referred to the former shortstop as “my macho.”
