Jessica Simpson memorably revealed that her libido was “unstoppable” while pregnant with her daughter, Maxwell. For Ali Fedotowsky — it’s the complete opposite. “I don’t want to have sex at all,” the former Bachelorette revealed in the cover story of Fit Pregnancy and Baby’s June issue. “Mentally, I can’t get past the fact that something so adult is happening in the presence of my little baby.”
And the reality star said her fiancé, Kevin Manno, feels the same way. “I mean, we’ll be intimate once in a while, but it’s not the same,” she said. “All I think about is the baby. And when I was sick during the first trimester, I was like, ‘Get the hell away from me. If you come near me with that thing, I will strangle you.'”
The couple, who announced their engagement in September, shared the news of their pregnancy and their first child’s gender — it’s a girl! — exclusively with Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, fellow Bachelor alum Catherine Giudici — who appears on the magazine’s cover with Fedotowsky — said she and husband Sean Lowe — who are also expecting their first baby — can’t keep their hands off each other. “I’ve always wanted sex with my husband, and that’s not changed one bit,” the 30-year-old shared. “I’m grateful Sean isn’t scared to do it with me, and he tries to be gentle. We’re obviously not doing crazy stuff, but you can still do the same stuff you were doing before.”
The first-time moms-to-be also differ when it comes to their birth plans. “I’m scared of pushing a baby through my vagina, so, yes, I want the epidural as soon as possible,” Fedotowsky, 31, told the magazine. As for Giudici, her plan is no drugs. “But I’m not against it,” she said. “If I need something, I’ll have a safe word to tell Sean.”
Giudici and Lowe, 32, are expecting their baby on July 5. Fedotowsky and the MYfm radio cohost, 32, are due to welcome their daughter one week later, on July 13.
