When Audrey Roloff shared a Facebook tribute to her daughter, Ember, on the baby’s 2-month birthday, she never could have predicted the backlash.
“We want our little Ember to be a light in the darkness, glowing in all she does, enduring and lasting — hard to stop, ALWAYS believing in the MORE that is within her,” wrote the Little People, Big World star on November 10. In the accompanying photo, Roloff’s adorable bundle of joy was stretched out on a milestone blanket.
So, why did the internet flip out? For a variety of reasons, actually.
“Putting pressure on an infant much? She’s just a baby, let her just thrive and grow without all the expectations and intensity,” commented one mom. Another chimed that Ember looked cold and went on to criticize the little girl’s headband: “Enjoy the fuzzy little baby head. Ember’s will soon enough be covered in a mess of red curls.” A third snipped that Roloff should have ironed the milestone blanket.
The though the 25-year-old chose not to respond to the ridiculous comments, plenty of followers came to her defense. As one woman wrote: “I wish FB had a ‘get a life’ button for people like this!”
Us Weekly exclusively broke the news that the fitness instructor and her husband, Jeremy Roloff, welcomed Ember on September 10.
Jeremy told Us in October that they feel “pretty confident” in their new roles as parents. “I think we’re ready for this journey, but are we prepared? No,” the 27-year-old dad admitted. “I don’t think you can be prepared. Similarly to marriage, you just do it and happens and then you kind of catch up to it.”
