Brooke Mueller is committed to her sobriety and living a quiet life in Salt Lake City, Utah. “Brooke has gotten her life in order and is finally the mother she always wanted to be,” a source close to the 40-year-old tells Us Weekly. “Everyone is proud of her.”
Mueller, who shares 8-year-old twins Bob and Max with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, struggled for years with substance abuse and mental health issues. But those days are behind her. “Brooke has been sober for a while and is very involved with mom stuff now,” says the source. “They are all doing well. All signs indicate that Brooke has escaped Hollywood.” But it looks like her son Bob could one day settle in Tinseltown.
At age 7, Bob wrote and directed horror flick The Rake and in September it was screened at the Hot Springs International Horror Film Festival.
Bob brought Mueller to the movie’s premiere in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. “These people get a letter in the mail and they read it and it brings them to a spooky house and they die,” Bob told ABC7 in September.
And Bob’s proud mom couldn’t resist adding that he also does special affects. “He would spends hours putting wounds on all of us,” raved Mueller. “He was amazing.”
Mueller and Sheen, 52, divorced in May 2011 after three years of marriage and a violent Christmas Day 2009 brawl, among other incidents.
