She’s just a little too old for you! Charlize Theron revealed her 4-year-old son, Jackson, developed a huge crush on her costar Emily Blunt while filming The Huntsman: Winter’s War in a new interview with ExtraTV. The two actresses play rival queen sisters Ravenna and Freya in the film, being billed as a prequel to Snow White & the Huntsman.
“My son is in love with her,” Theron, 40, said of the Brit. “He thinks she’s, like, the most beautiful princess ever. Yeah, it’s crazy. I didn’t even exist. He was just like, ‘Ahhh, she’s a princess.’ I’m like, ‘I’m a queen.’”
When Jackson wasn’t admiring Blunt, he was paying close attention to his mom’s scenes on set, especially one in which she was acting particularly villainous. “He was watching her close up and she was really going for it, like, and the intensity, and it was just one of those heightened scenes,” Blunt, 33, said. “Jackson was watching her close up and he went, ‘Oooh, Mama’s spicy.’” Theron, who is also mom of daughter August, said with a laugh, “I have no idea where he even came up with that word choice.”
Blunt also brought her 2-year-old daughter, Hazel, to the set to play with her costars’ kids, which includes Chris Hemsworth’s daughter, India, 3, and twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, 2. The Sicario actress is currently expecting her second child with husband John Krasinski. Blunt revealed that being a mom has definitely played into her recent film choices. “I do have more of an awareness of what I’m putting out there into the world now, and also stuff that I know that they’ll really enjoy,” she said. “That does play into it when I think about certain parts I’ve played or certain projects I’ve taken.” She also mentioned one specific project that was almost certainly inspired by her daughter. “I’m going to do the voice-over in My Little Pony,” she continued. “Hazel’s going to love it.”
