The perfect addition to their family! Chip and Joanna Gaines gave the world a peek at their newborn baby boy and revealed his name shortly after announcing the news of his birth.
“Our baby boy, Crew Gaines, is here and we couldn’t be more in love,” the 40-year-old proud mom of five wrote alongside a series of Instagram photos on Saturday, June 23.
“He made an unexpected (and speedy) entrance into the world two and a half weeks early — which is fitting given he was a sweet surprise from day one,” she continued. “Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful.”
In the first photo, the doting mama can be seen gazing at Crew while sitting in a hospital bed. The next shows her 43-year-old husband embracing her in a hug. In the last pic, the complete family of seven are all smiles.
Joanna later added a photo of their older four children — Drake, 13, Ella Rose, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 8 — leaning up against the closed hospital door, eager to greet their new brother.
She captioned the sweet pic: “One of my favorite pics a friend showed me after Crew was born. They couldn’t wait to meet their new baby brother ❤”
The Fixer Upper stars announced the arrival of their son earlier that same day in a heartfelt Twitter post. “And then there were 5,” Chip wrote on Saturday. “The Gaines crew is now 1 stronger! 10 beautiful toes and 10 beautiful fingers all accounted for, and big momma is doing great! #blessedBeyondBelief”
The pair — who wed in May 2003 — announced the expansion of their brood in January. “Gaines party of 7.. (If you’re still confused.. WE ARE PREGNANT),” Chip wrote alongside an Instagram pic of his wife’s baby bump — and his impressive belly — at the time.
“You might recall a few months back.. the ever amazing, ever romantic @JOHNNYSWIM was in Waco,” he added on Twitter. “And they put on a little too romantic of a concert.. anyways, one thing led to another, & we are officially pregnant. And I could not be more EXCITED! #5 #7ThePerfectNumber.”
