Baby No. 5 — and another girl! Dateline correspondent Andrea Canning welcomed her fifth daughter on Wednesday, May 27, Us Weekly can exclusively confirm. Canning and husband Major Tony Bancroft’s newest addition, Elle Corbin Bancroft, was born in Greenwich, Conn., weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces.
Little Elle joins big sisters Anna, Charlie, Kiki, and Georgia.
“After five girls our family is complete and we're blessed beyond words,” Canning tells Us Weekly in an exclusive statement. “Five is what happens when you keep going for the boy!”
And while she may not have gotten a son, the Canadian-American journalist and U.S. Marine Corps pilot have their hands full.
“All six years old and under we have our work cut out for us,” she added. “But we hope they will be the best of friends forever.”
Canning and Bancroft, who reside in New York City, have been married since 2008.
