During a recent appearance on The Talk, Kristen Bell shared a cringeworthy story about her kids busting in on her and husband Dax Shepard having sex. But Shepard wants fans to know a few things.
“Okay, they didn’t walk in while I was, like, pounding mom,” the El Camino Christmas actor, 42, revealed during a Wednesday, November 8, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “We put on the TV in the living room — we’re bad parents — and then we stole away for a minute, afternoon delight, but we were just under the sheets and they walked in. It was more just explaining why we’re taking, like, a nap in the afternoon while they were loose.”
The dad of Delta, 2, and Lincoln, 4, clarified that it wasn’t “full coitus interruptus,” but it was still pretty awkward. “Suffice it to say, I wouldn’t have gotten out of bed at that moment,” he admitted. “That would’ve been a strange nap I was taking.”
Bell, who currently stars in A Bad Moms Christmas, has never been shy about disclosing details about her and Shepard’s sex life. “We’re pretty decent about staying on top of it. We’ll be like, ‘Okay, it’s been how many days?’” she told Redbook in 2016. “We find a night when nobody is coming over and we don’t have to work super-early int he morning, and then we slot it in.”
The 37-year-old actress found the perfect partner in Shepard, who has no shame in his TMI game. “I overshare,” he told the L.A. Times in March. “I’ll tell strangers anything. I think it’s from being in a 12-step program for 12 years.”
