Fans think they have found a hint in the hue after Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse’s baby announcement.
Palvin, 32, wore a powder blue dress in new maternity photos alongside Sprouse, 33, while sharing news about their first child on the way on Thursday, May 14.
“🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼,” the couple captioned a series of snapshots via Instagram, including a sonogram image of their little one doing the hand sign and another close-up shot of the parents-to-be following suit by holding their hands in the same pose on top of the blue fabric of her gown.
Social media users began theorizing about the sex of baby Sprouse after seeing her wardrobe color choice. “I’m an old fan, and I say it’s a boy. Hahaha, congratulations, my angel. @realbarbarapalvin,” one person wrote in the comments section. “I assume it’s a boy cuz she chose blue dress,” another echoed. “The baby is only 3 months old and the gender is still unknown, we’ll have to wait a little longer 😅,” a third fan chimed in amid the debate.
Palvin stepped out for the 2026 Cannes Film Festival amid their announcement, cradling her baby bump while making her way down the steps at Hôtel Martinez with her beau.
Stylist Marc Eram was behind her Cinderella-esque look with a feathery hemline, which was completed with Chopard diamond jewelry. The color choice also complemented Palvin’s eye color.
Palvin and Sprouse met at a party in 2017, with their connection evolving into a romance the following year.
“[We had] our first kiss, after [she] horked down a third of my burrito,” the Suite Life on Deck actor quipped about their first date during an interview with Vogue.
The lovebirds got engaged in September 2022, keeping it hush-hush until announcing the news publicly in June 2023. Palvin and Sprouse later tied the knot in July 2023.
In February 2025, the duo revealed who said the L-word first.
“I did in Hungarian, but he didn’t know,” she exclusively told Us Weekly, to which Sprouse replied, “Yeah. She did it in Hungarian, I guess. And then I said it, obviously in English, but I thought I said it first.”
“We’ve acted like a married couple since we started dating,” Sprouse also told Us, revealing there wasn’t much of a shift after they made it official. “So it hasn’t changed to the point where it’s pretty drastic.”
The Victoria’s Secret Angel added, “[It’s] a little calmer now. We’re not questioning, like, ‘Are we gonna get there? Are we gonna get married?’ Like, it happened and now we’re a team. Forever!”
