Barbara Palvin and Dylan Sprouse are expecting their first child two years after tying the knot.
Sprouse, 33, and Palvin, 32, confirmed the pregnancy news in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, May 14. Palvin posed in a baby blue gown beside her husband, who sported a black suit and placed a hand on her baby bump. The couple also shared an ultrasound scan edited to look like the baby was making the “rock hands” gesture, as well as a photo of Palvin and Sprouse doing the hand motion.

Shortly before their Instagram post, Sprouse and Palvin stepped out together in their black and blue ensembles at the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival.
The model and the actor began dating in June 2018 after meeting at a Harper’s Bazaar party the previous August. Palvin explained in February 2020 why she initially ignored Sprouse’s DM for months. “I was very scared,” she told British Vogue. “I had this thought in the back, like, ‘Oh, but wait … are we going to get paparazzi’ed all the time?’”
The pair sparked engagement speculation in March 2023 when Palvin was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand at the Mammoth Film Festival. Us Weekly revealed at the time that Palvin had been calling Sprouse her fiancé, and the couple did not want to wait to settle down. “They keep details of their personal life private,” a source said, noting that they had “talked about getting married and having kids soon.”
After keeping their betrothal under wraps for months, Sprouse and Palvin confirmed the news in a June 2023 V Magazine cover shoot, posing in front of a giant wedding cake while dressed as a bride and groom. They also revealed to the outlet that he actually proposed in September 2022.
“We didn’t necessarily feel the need to be fully transparent with the public about that aspect of our engagement,” Sprouse noted. “What we wanted to do with Stephen and the V team is make something that was kind of tongue-in-cheek about the nature of private versus public. We’re playing with the idea of perception.”
Palvin agreed that the couple were “building this story up,” adding that she was “very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”
Sprouse, meanwhile, divulged what marriage meant to him, describing it as “a promise of kind of loving you endlessly and being your partner.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Palvin and Sprouse confirmed that they planned to marry in her native Hungary. “I’m excited to show that side of me and introduce my culture, the places I grew up and the places I went to,” she said. “I feel like a lot of people will learn even more about me this way. I know there was no way we would have not had a wedding in Hungary because my parents would have killed me.”
The month after the pair went public with their engagement, they tied the knot, with Palvin telling Vogue, “This past weekend was supposed to be an intimate event, but we ended up having 115 guests in the end because there are a lot of people we care about, and we wanted them all to be there.”
