Emile Hirsch gushed to Us Weekly that Valor, his one-month-old son, is "beautiful" and "sweet" during his Bonnie & Clyde premiere in NYC on Monday, Dec. 2

Proud papa! Emile Hirsch may have kept mum leading up to the birth of his son, but now the actor can't help but gush about his new little guy, Valor. The 28-year-old star opened up about becoming a first-time dad during his Bonnie & Clyde premiere in NYC this week. (Hirsch stars as Clyde in the new TV mini-series adaptation of the classic 1967 film, based on true events.)

"It has just been such a special experience that is really hard to put into words," Hirsch told Us Weekly at The Heath at the McKittrick Hotel on Monday, Dec. 2. "He's just adorable. He's like an eternal campfire you can stare at him forever. He's just beautiful."

He added: "He's sweet. He's funny. I don't think I realized how funny some babies were until my son started making me laugh."

A source confirmed to Us in October that Hirsch was expecting his first child with a woman he previously dated. Less than one month later, the Into the Wild actor welcomed his baby boy and shared a photo of the father-son duo.

"I have always wanted a kid. So I am thrilled. Overjoyed!" Hirsch previously told Us at the Lone Survivor premiere at AFI Fest 2013 in Hollywood on Nov. 12. "[Valor is as] cute as cute can be."

Rekindling the romance with his former fling, however, is still unknown. "He's trying to be a good guy in the situation," an insider told Us at the time. "He still has love for the girl — it's just his schedule and life did not fit in with having a relationship."
