Jamie Lynn Spears is expecting her first child with husband Jamie Watson.
The singer and actress, 26, announced the happy news on Instagram on Sunday, December 24, sharing a photo that revealed her large baby bump as she held hands with Watson and Maddie, 9, her daughter with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge.
“Looks like we are starting off 2018 with another big milestone…sooo happy to announce that Maddie is FINALLY going to be a big sister,” Britney Spears‘ little sister captioned the photo. “2017 was filled with some of the biggest challenges of my life, as well as some of the biggest blessings, so I made a choice to lay low this year to focus on truly becoming my best self as a person and as an artist. During that time, I continued working on my music and telling my story, which has created some of my most honest work and I CANT wait to share that with you all very soon.”
“2018 is going to be filled with many milestones both personally and professionally,” she continued. “I appreciate each of you for your patience and support through it all. 2018 has a lot coming, so GET READY.”
In February this year, the former Zoey 101 star almost lost her daughter in a terrifying ATV accident after the off-road vehicle Maddie was driving flipped over. She was reportedly underwater for several minutes and was unconscious before being airlifted to a nearby hospital. Maddie was hospitalized for five days and has since made a full recovery.
A grateful Jamie Lynn paid tribute to the first responders who saved her daughter on December 19, sharing a photo of Maddie with her two rescuers.
“The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie, but thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old all together,” she captioned the pic. “This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that.”
Jamie Lynn famously got pregnant with Maddie at the age of 16 and the controversial news sparked a media frenzy and ultimately led Nickelodeon to cancel Zoey 101 in 2008. She married country singer Watson in 2014.
