Speaking her truth. Jana Kramer tearfully reflected on her miscarriages in an emotional vlog post on Sunday, July 9.
“I want to be as open and honest and raw as possible and that’s why I’m doing this. I wanted to show you guys my journey of becoming pregnant,” she explained of her and husband Mike Caussin’s struggle to get pregnant after four failed attempts at vitro fertilization. “When Mike and I first got together, we were having trouble conceiving, so I went to the doctors and started the process of IVF. We only had three embryos and we implanted the two embryos. I ended up getting pregnant but we had a very, very early chemical loss.”
Soon after, however, the One Tree Hill alum, 34, got pregnant with her 2-year-old daughter, Jolie. The couple tried again around four to five months later, but lost the baby at 7-and-a-half weeks. In October 2017, Kramer once again got pregnant but faced a similar fate at 9 weeks.
“I debated even saying anything, but I think that’s the problem with miscarriage: it’s not talked about,” Kramer said through tears in the videos. “And it should be. It’s sad because when you find out you’re pregnant, it’s so exciting and you want to shout it and tell everybody. But you don’t because of stuff like this, and instead, you’re left alone in this feeling of just being so alone.”
The “I Got the Boy” singer has been open about suffering many miscarriages. Last month, Kramer revealed that she and Caussin, 31, were expecting their second child after all that they had been through trying to conceive again.
“It’s just such a scary process because it’s a true miracle … I mean, it seems so easy, when you look at some people, but other time’s it’s like, it’s a miracle,” she explained on an episode of her podcast, Whine Down. “It’s been a tough journey. We lost our last two pregnancies, so it’s been really tough.”
Thankfully, Kramer and the former athlete are now “past the scary point” of their pregnancy. As for their relationship, Us Weekly broke the news in 2016 that the football pro cheated on the country songstress with many women and received treatment for sex addiction. They renewed their vows in December 2017.
