Sharing her struggle. Four months after welcoming her first child with husband Jason Aldean, Brittany Kerr has revealed that it wasn’t an easy journey to get pregnant.

The 30-year-old lifestyle blogger spoke to the Babes and Babies podcast where she revealed that it took her and the country crooner plenty of time and the help of in vitro fertilization to get pregnant with their son.

“It was the longest process,” Kerr told the podcast hosts. “It was such a roller coaster and I ended up, through it all, having endometriosis. After a year and a half of trying, they’re finally like, ‘We think you might have endometriosis.’ I’m like, ‘Uh … after all that, are you kidding me?’”

Endometriosis is when tissue that is supposed to grow inside the uterus grows outside instead, according to the National Institutes of Health. One symptom is infertility.

The makeup artist then revealed she had laparascopy to remove the tissue. “So they got rid of that, and then I ended up getting pregnant,” she explained.

“The IVF was probably harder than the actual pregnancy, for me, because it was just such a roller coaster and so difficult,” she continued. “It’s such high highs and such low lows, and no one really knows that you’re going through it all so you have to just put on a game face and pretend that you’re not giving yourself shots in your stomach every day, all day.”

It would feel as “though you’ve had a little bit of a miscarriage,” she explained of the 10-day embryo implantation period. “Because you expect to be pregnant and then you’re not. And that happened to us multiple times. So then when we finally ended up getting pregnant, it was the most exciting thing ever because we had tried for so long.”

The couple — who tied the knot in March 2015 — even considered using a surrogate. “We were thinking about all the options,” she said. “Which is sad because you want to be able to carry your own child, but then you’re thinking, ‘What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I? Why is it not implanting? I don’t understand.’”

While Memphis was Kerr’s first child, her 41-year-old husband has two daughters — Kendyl, 10, and Keeley, 14 — from a previous marriage, and the couple may be looking to add a fourth to their brood.

“We want probably just one more, because he has two children already, and then we had him, so I feel like four is a lot,” she said. “But I want to try again, just so that Memphis has a friend that’s close to his age.”

She added that “the sooner the better,” since “you’re already doing the diaper thing, … [so] why don’t we just knock it out instead of getting out of that time frame, and then having to start all over again?”

Aldean announced the arrival of their bundle of joy in a sweet Instagram post in December 2017. “So blessed today to see my little man come into the world,” he captioned a pic of the happy parents with their little one. “In a year that has been a rollercoaster ride, this is what its all about. I cant wait to see what life has in store for this kid. Memphis Aldean… 9lb 5 oz. #mamawasarockstar.”
