It’s a family affair! Jason Biggs’ children met the actor’s American Pie dad, Eugene Levy, on Monday, January 22 — and took a photo together thanks to Jenny Mollen.
The 38-year-old Angel actress shared a glimpse of the reunion in an Instagram post. “Jason’s father stopped by to meet the baby,” she captioned the snapshot.
“(The apple is purely coincidental,)” she added, making a nod to the 1999 film. In the comedy, Biggs played a teenager who finds himself in many awkward positions with his parents — including getting caught having a private moment with his mom’s freshly baked pie.
Later that day, Biggs credited his former onscreen father for their 3-month-old son’s first big chuckle. “Laz’s first LOL. I couldn’t make him laugh, so I had to bring in the big guns,” he captioned an Instagram video of the baby cracking up and holding Levy’s hands.
As previously reported, Biggs and Mollen welcomed their second child — a baby boy named Lazlo — in October 2017. The couple, who also share 3-year-old son Sid, tied the knot in 2009 after several months of dating.
Biggs and Levy costarred together in all four movies of the franchise — American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding and American Reunion. In November, Biggs opened up to Us Weekly about working on the films and even revealed who he almost lost the part of Jim Levenstein to.
“I wanted [the role] so badly!” he told Us. “I knew I did well. I heard from the directors that I was their top choice but the studio kind of had someone else in mind. Jonathan Taylor Thomas actually, from Home Improvement. They wanted to see that through because he was a name.”
He added: “I never talked to JTT before or after, but I am incredibly grateful because I think he passed. I think he actually had the offer, if I’m correct … Theoretically, he could have done it but at the time, I think it didn’t fit with his more family-oriented brand.”
