Jennifer Meyer’s two children with ex-husband Tobey Maguire are definitely on the nice list this holiday season. The jewelry designer, 41, considers 12-year-old Ruby and 9-year-old Otis to be the best parts of her life.
Meyer exclusively told Us Weekly how proud she is of her kids at the Baby2Baby holiday party presented by Frame at the Beverly Hills hotel Montage on Sunday, December 16.
Along with fellow attendees Jessica Alba and Rachel Zoe, Meyer is on the board of directors for Baby2Baby, an organization that provides low-income families with diapers, clothing and other essentials.
And daughter Ruby may very well follow in her footsteps, Meyer explained: “My 12-year-old, the last two years for her birthday, asked for no gifts but asked for donations to Baby2Baby. So people were walking into her birthday party with boxes of Huggies and Honest Company and onesies. And those are the moments where you’re like, ‘You know what? The world’s going to be OK.’ If we start teaching our children and they catch on like that, that’s it. She’s a pretty great kid. She can take my board seat one day when my term is up.”
Meyer said Ruby and Otis show that level of kindness on a regular basis. “Asking for no gifts and only donations to Baby2Baby — listen, I get that every day,” she told Us. “I’m so lucky. My kids just … there’s nothing better in my life. I get to go from here to their holiday singing recital, where I’m sure I’ll cry more. I’m just a lucky mom.”
The Los Angeles native also raved to Us about her kids in September. “Anywhere with them makes me happy,” she said. “Give me a good Saturday night on the couch with them and a movie, and I’m thrilled.”
At the time, Meyer also revealed how she and Maguire, from whom she divorced in 2017 after 10 years of marriage, succeed in coparenting: “Remember that you love your kids equally more than anything in the world and that you want the best for them.”
