Jesse McCartney and his wife, Katie McCartney, have another beautiful soul coming to their family in 2027.
“Archer is getting promoted to big brother 🤍,” Jesse, 39, and Katie, 38, wrote in a joint Instagram post on Thursday, October 1, referring to their 16-month-old son.
Jesse and Katie, who revealed that their little one is due in March 2027, welcomed Archer last year.
“Archer James McCartney took center stage on 5/7/25. Our sweet Archie couldn’t wait to meet us and arrived a bit earlier than expected,” the proud parents wrote in an Instagram announcement at the time. “We are so in love with him. He loves when mommy reads him a book and when daddy sings him off to sleep.”
Archer was born premature, staying in a hospital NICU for 70 days.
“He soared the NICU in a way that is textbook, which is what the doctors literally said,” Jesse later told People in September 2025. “We hung onto that and just took it a day at a time. … We had a moment a few days ago where we didn’t get the happy feeling that you’re supposed to get, because our happiness was just grateful that he’s alive and that he’s breathing on his own. That shouldn’t be the experience. Unfortunately, it is for so many moms.”
According to Jesse, it was “the greatest day of [his] life” when the couple were finally able to bring Archer home in July 2025.
“[We] just stared at him all night, without any machines around him, in his own crib,” the “Beautiful Soul” singer gushed to the outlet. “When he gets excited or he can’t sleep, I try to bring him over to the piano, and I’ll play some music for him, and he totally goes wide-eyed. You can tell he’s really tuning in. Just three days ago, he started smiling at me. I just can’t get enough. I feel so lucky.”
Jesse and Katie have been married since 2021 after nine years of dating.
“Katie’s wonderful,” the musician exclusively told Us in 2024 about his longtime love. “This last year, it was hard for her. I was traveling so much [on tour]. She actually came out quite a bit, but needless to say, we didn’t get much of an anniversary [celebration]. I was on the road [and] I think we celebrated, literally, in a hotel room with Domino’s and a bottle of cheap red wine.”
