Grandbabies galore! Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are gearing up for lots of little ones now that three of their 19 kids are married and starting families of their own. Between son Josh and daughter Jill, the latter of whom just welcomed her first child with husband Derick Dillard, the TLC reality stars already have four grandkids — and another on the way from Josh’s wife, Anna!
The Duggar family patriarch and matriarch could not be happier about their growing brood, and took to Facebook on Friday, April 10, to express their joy over the newest addition, little Israel David.
“We want to thank everybody for all their support for Jill and Derick,” Jim Bob began, referring to his second eldest daughter and her husband of just over nine months.
“And for your prayers,” Michelle piped in. “What a blessed time this is as we welcomed our new grandbaby, little Israel, into the world. We are just so thankful for our friends and those out there that have been praying for our family. Thank you so much.”
“Yeah, so…four grandkids and counting,” Jim Bob added, “going on 200!”
Triple digits might seem like a stretch, but if each of their 19 kids have even half as many children as they had, the Duggar family will be well into the hundreds in no time at all.
As previously reported, Jill and her husband Derick welcomed newborn son Israel on Monday, April 6, at 11:49 p.m. They announced his birth in a video on the family’s website just one day later, while both mom and baby were still in the hospital.
“We’re so excited to announce the birth of our son, Israel David Dillard,” Jill, 23, said in the clip. “He weighs a whopping 9 pounds, 10 ounces, and he was 23 inches in length…He’s just a handsome little fellow.”
