Multitasking mama! Kate Hudson returned to work on Wednesday, November 7, just a little over a month after giving birth to her first child with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa.
The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actress, 39, stepped out in Los Angeles to serve as a panelist during a Conversation with Michael Kors, Kate Hudson and The World Food Programme at UCLA.
Hudson stunned in a long-sleeve black-and-blue floral dress, with her blonde locks in loose curls. The outing was the first time the Almost Famous star has made a public appearance since welcoming her daughter, Rani, on October 2.
The Fabletics founder revealed she and Fujikawa, 32, were expecting a baby girl in a sweet gender reveal video on Instagram in April.
“SURPRISE!!! If you’ve wondered why I’ve been so absent on my social channels it’s because I have never been more sick! It was the most sick first trimester of all my children,” she captioned the post. “We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now! And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it! My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way.”
Hudson, who is also mom to Ryder, 14, and Bingham, 7, from previous relationships, also took to Instagram to announce the little one’s arrival in October and explain the meaning behind her unique name.
“She’s here 💕,” the California native wrote on October 3. “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor. Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thanks you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send ours right back.”
Days later, Hudon shared the first picture of the newborn. “Our little rosebud,” she captioned a photo of Rani swaddled in a blanket and sound asleep.
