What Hollywood makeover?
Sequined gowns and pricey hair extensions be damned, Kate Gosselin says she hasn't changed much in the past several months.
In her Discovery blog post published on Tuesday, the 35-year-old admits that her eight kids have been confused by glamorous new images of their mom for Dancing with the Stars and other projects.
She writes: "My little critics excitedly look at the pictures, tilt their heads to the side and say, in a very perplexed manner, 'Mommy? Is that you?'"
Gosselin's answer: "Yep. It's me. Under all that glitz. It's the same old dirty T-shirt-and-sweat-pants-wearing, barking-orders, cooking-in-the-kitchen, frazzled me."
The single mom and former nurse from Wernersville, Penn. won't be leaving the airwaves anytime soon, though: her TLC series Twist of Kate premieres later this year, and her kids are slated to appear in separate specials also planned for the cable network. The reality star — who has pitched in on The View and Entertainment Tonight — recently told Access Hollywood's Billy Bush that she'd love to do "co-hosting" on TV in the future, too.
Still, she says, "It's really fun to play 'dress up,' as my 5 year olds call it, but when the day is said and done, I'm always right back at home, cooking dinner, cleaning it up, packing lunches, giving baths and overseeing homework!"
"Thanks, kids," she adds in her blog. "You keep me in the real world … exactly where I belong!"
