Yep, it’s a girl! Kim Kardashian accidentally confirmed the sex of her third child during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, November 15.
“My daughter thinks she’s tricky,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 37, said. “We had a baby shower over the weekend, and I thought, ‘You know, I really do want to have a baby shower because I want [North] to feel that something’s coming and for her to really understand it.’”
The next day, the 4-year-old opened the gifts from the party. “She was like, ‘Mom, since baby sister is not here, I think I need all of her toys in my room and I’ll play with them and make sure all of them are OK for baby sister,” Kardashian continued. DeGeneres, 59, was quick to point out the reality star’s slip of the tongue: “You just told us it’s a girl!”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed in July that Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, are expecting their third bundle of joy via surrogate. Multiple sources confirmed to Us in September that the couple, who share North and son Saint, 23 months, have a baby girl on the way.
The social media mogul also revealed to DeGeneres that she and West, 40, have not decided on a name for their little one just yet, but she did ask her family and friends to write down ideas at her baby shower. Still, “North is really excited [to have a sister],” she gushed. “She’s so excited. Let’s see if it lasts.”
Later in the show, the talk show host asked Kardashian about Khloé Kardashian and Kylie Jenner’s pregnancies as neither of them have publicly confirmed the news. “Alright, I’m going to break it down. This is how we work in the family,” Kim said. “When there are lots of rumors, we have these family group chats and we threaten each other’s lives if we speak for the other one. So, for the safety of my life … we just decided there is so much that goes on that we respect each other’s right to speak for themselves. So I will speak about myself, and hopefully they can come on [the show] and address whatever rumors you might have.”
Us confirmed Jenner’s pregnancy in late September. The 20-year-old is expecting a baby girl with boyfriend Travis Scott in February 2018. Us later broke the news that Khloé, 33, is also pregnant with her first child, a boy, with beau Tristan Thompson. She is due around the same time as Jenner.
