Tristan Thompson

Tristan Thompson started his career in basketball at Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey, after moving from his native Toronto. He later transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, before committing to The University of Texas at Austin. He won the Texas Longhorns’ MVP Award during the 2010 to 2011 season, but chose to leave at the end of his freshman year to enter the NBA draft.
The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Thompson in the fourth round of the draft in June 2011, and he made his debut that December against his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors. He helped the Cavs reach the 2015 NBA Finals, but they lost to the Golden State Warriors. After signing a five-year, $82 million contract with the Cavaliers, Thompson led his team to win its first NBA championship in 52 years in 2016. The Cavs faced off against the Warriors again in the 2017 and 2018 NBA Finals, but they lost both times.
Thompson began dating Khloé Kardashian in September 2016 while his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig was pregnant with his first child. Craig gave birth to a son named Prince that December. Thompson and Kardashian welcomed his second child and her first, a daughter named True, in April 2018, just two days after he was caught cheating on the reality star with multiple women. The couple reconciled, but ultimately called it quits in February 2019 when Thompson cheated with Kylie Jenner’s BFF Jordyn Woods.
Though the on-off pair reconciled in August 2020 and were appearing to patch things up on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the NBA player and Good American cofounder called it quits less than one year later, Us confirmed in June 2021.
In December 2021, Thompson made headlines after Texas trainer Maralee Nichols sued him for child support after claiming she got pregnant after hooking up with the Chicago Bulls player in March 2021. After she welcomed son Theo in December that year, the reality star confirmed his paternity status via social media in January 2022, issuing a public apology to Kardashian.

In July 2022, multiple sources confirmed to Us that the former Cleveland Cavaliers player and the Kardashians star were expecting a second child via surrogate who was already pregnant amid Thompson’s paternity scandal with Nichols. One month later, Us confirmed the pair had welcomed baby No. 2.
