As parents of 3-month-old twins, Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavec earned their date night on Saturday, September 15.
“I’m so excited to be out. I can’t comprehend,” 56-year-old Herjavec told Us Weekly at the Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party sponsored by Fiji water in West Hollywood. Dancing With the Stars pro Johnson, 42, was equally euphoric. The mom of daughter, Haven, and son, Hudson, chimed in that most evenings for her and the Shark Tank star involve “a half hour laying in bed watching Netflix” until one of the baby’s screams.
Herjavec joked that he’s spending too much time standing at a changing table. “Will they be in diapers forever?” the TV personality wondered out loud on Saturday. Both he and the Australia native agreed that is how it feels at the moment.
“When you first have kids, you buy all these diapers and you’re like, ‘We’ll never go through that many.’ And then two days later, you’re like, ‘We don’t have enough. We need more.’”
Johnson is more than happy to replenish their supply. “Honestly, my night out was driving to Target late one night for something,” she told Us. “It was kind of exciting.”
Though the fraternal twins are still coming into their own, Herjavec took a playful jab at his wife of two years, noting that “one of them is really hyper and really frustrated and impatient just like Kym.”
Despite major sleep deprivation, Johnson and Herjavec are loving this phase of life with their infants. “We travel while they can,” Johnson explained. “Everyone told us to travel with them now because when they start moving, we’re going to be in lots of trouble.”
Added Herjavec: “They’ve been to five countries already!”
The couple, who celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary in July, first met when they were paired together on season 20 of DWTS in 2015. Herjavec also shares three children with his ex-wife Diane Plese.
