What ever happened to predictability? Lori Loughlin shockingly shared with Us Weekly on Tuesday, March 18 that her kids never really got into Full House!
“You know what’s funny is they have never really watched [the show],” Loughlin, 49, said of her two daughters Isabella Rose, 15, and Olivia Jade, 14, while speaking to Us at Hollygrove’s Norma Jean Gala in Beverly Hills. “They have seen episodes. But it’s not like they were ever avid fans.”
The actress/producer who played beautiful aunt Becky on the family sitcom, added that her nieces and nephews and even “kids my children go to school with” have seen the show. But her theory on why Isabella and Olivia — her daughters with first husband Mossimo Giannulli — could not get into Full House was simply because of their mom’s starring role.
“It’s a little funny for them to see me,” she explained. “They’ve watched occasionally but they’ll definitely switch the channel and watch Pretty Little Liars or something else,” Loughlin added of ABC Family’s hit young adult series. “I am mom to them and that’s what they want me to be,” she said. “100 percent.”
Despite her kids’ refusal to watch her smash ’90s sitcom, Loughlin gushed over their latest accomplishments at the gala. “I think everything they do is a milestone,” she said of her children. “I’m happy to say right now for 14 and 15, they’re still nice girls with very little attitude. They still like me, and I feel that’s a milestone with a teenager.”
At least Loughlin was spared of any awkward dinner table talk involving Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis’ steamy onscreen romance with uncle Jesse Katsopolis, played by John Stamos. “I talked to him today actually,” Loughlin told Us of her former costar. “I’m sure we’ll get together in the not-too-distant future.”
“I consider him one of my best, dearest friends,” she gushed of Stamos. “Certainly one of my oldest longtime friends.”
