Schmidt weighs in! It was a big week for Zooey Deschanel, who announced both her first pregnancy and engagement to Jacob Pechenik. The engaged mommy-to-be’s New Girl costar Max Greenfield talked to Us Weekly about the big news at the Dylan’s Candy Bar and Milk + Bookies event in Los Angeles on Saturday, Jan. 24.
“It was exciting!” Greenfield, 34, gushed. “[The cast] all found out at the same time on set, and it was just like, ‘Oh my God!’”
Though he admitted he hasn’t received a wedding invitation yet, Greenfield noted, “They just got engaged!”
The father of 4-year-old Lilly thinks Deschanel, 35, will make a “fantastic” mother.
“She takes care of the whole show, so I don’t think she’ll have a problem with the kid,” he told Us.
