Mercedes “MJ” Javid and Tommy Feight are officially parents! The Shahs of Sunset stars welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Shams Francis Feight, on Tuesday, April 17.
The couples’ rep confirmed the happy news in a statement to E! News: “The healthy baby boy is happy and doing great, and the family can’t wait to bring him home.”
Us Weekly broke the news in October 2018 that the Bravo star was pregnant. The exciting announcement came three months after Javid opened up about undergoing IVF.
“The truth is that I have a lot of ups and downs, moment to moment, especially on the hormones from IVF stuff,” she told Us in July 2018. “You retain a lot of water. You feel really great one moment and then terrible another moment. That’s the reason why I share because, in my Instagram Stories for instance, I’ll say, ‘I don’t feel good today,’ but I want everyone else to know not to beat themselves up, to be kind to yourself and know that those days happen to everyone.’”
Javid documented her pregnancy journey on Instagram, revealing that she craved “raw fruits and veggies like never before.”
“I also lend the change in me to the importance of making healthy choices for my unborn child who deserves good choices,” she wrote on the social media platform in March. “Also, the responsibility to do my best to avoid gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, both of which, I am happy to report, I do not have, although we’re not done yet, so it’s important for me to continue being careful about my diet.”
The reality TV personality also revealed that she suffered from insomnia in the weeks leading up to her labor.
“It’s the body preparing for the feeding schedule, but also, I just know it’s a crazy new energy that comes with excitement for what’s to come, God willing,” she told her fans on March 18. “As crazy as it sounds, I don’t mind being tired! Last night I slept through the night, it was amazing. It’s a roller coaster, but an awesome roller coaster. 🙏”
Javid and Feight tied the knot in front of their friends, family and Shahs of Sunset costars in April 2018.
