Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, the comedic duo known as I Mom So Hard, went viral with more than 19 million views in May when they ranted about the nightmare that is swimsuit season.
Now Hensley is getting all the likes (90,000 of them!) for an October 27 Facebook post about why “shopping sucks” after you’ve had kids.
“I had to try on dresses today and nothing fit. It’s the worst feeling in the world!” began the L.A.-based mother of two. “I’m a size 10 (an 8 at the Gap) and most of it’s in my middle because I had babies. I run. I lift weights and I’m strong. And yet these fucking dresses made me feel weak, misshapen and lumpy, which in all honestly I kinda am.”
But Hensley’s pity party ended as soon as soon as she pulled into her driveway. “Then I got home, looked at pictures of my kids, smelled the chicken I had cooking on the stove, and poured a glass of wine,” she wrote. “Because in the end, it’s just a dress. And I look better in pants anyway.”
In the comments section, women sounded off about their own shopping experiences and shared photos of themselves in dresses.
“Who needs a dress anyway?! I wore one for my wedding. That was more than enough for me,” wrote one person. Added another: “I have been a double 00 up to a size 12. Right now, I am a size 8 and weigh 165. I have a similar build to Serena Williams, but I am 5’3. Lol. Hugs to everyone. #girlrockyoursize.”
