His tennis team is growing! Novak Djokovic and his wife Jelena Ristic have welcomed their first child. The tennis pro announced the news via Twitter on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
"Stefan, our baby angel was born! I am so proud of my beautiful wife Jelena!" the 27-year-old wrote. "Thank you so much for your love and support. We love you all!!!"
Djokovic's official website notes that Ristic gave birth to a "wonderful, healthy and a lovely boy." The new dad will be spending the next few days with his family before traveling to Paris to compete at the ATP Masters tournament.
The Serbian athlete has had a roller coaster of a year. The couple tied the knot in Montenegro on July 10 just days after Djokovic won against Roger Federer at London's Wimbledon. "I would like to dedicate it to my future wife and our future baby," he said after his win.
"I'm going to become a father soon and I'm still preparing for that," he continued. "It's a great joy in life."
