It should come as no surprise that pregnancy looks good on Victoria’s Secret model Chanel Iman. But the 27-year-old wasn’t feeling so hot a few months ago.
“The first trimester was very difficult,” Iman told Us Weekly and other reporters at the Fragrance Foundation Awards in New York City on Tuesday, June 12. “I really struggled. I was super sick.”
The mom-to-be is expecting her first child with husband Sterling Shepard in August. She and the New York Giants wide receiver, 24, tied the knot in March.
Though Iman revealed that she is “just anxious to meet her,” when speaking about the baby on Tuesday, she quickly clarified: “I’m not sure if it’s a boy or a girl. I keep saying it’s one thing but I really don’t know.”
While Iman gushed that an “amazing” personal chef haS been spoiling her with “lots of good food,” Shepard treats her to “lots of good evenings” when he returns home from football practice.
Shepard told the New York Post on Wednesday that the baby is due August 19 — around the same time he will be in Detroit for a preseason game. “I talked to coach about it a while ago, and he was like, ‘We’ll see if we can get you a day off or something,’” the athlete quipped. “I don’t want to be away from the guys, but that type of stuff, you have to be there for that.”
The athlete is counting down the days until he becomes a dad. “I’m super excited about it,” gushed to the paper. “On games day, I see guys . . . they have their babies down there, and it’s a warm feeling when you see that. I”m looking forward to it. I can’t wait.”
