Doting grandpa! It’s no secret that Prince Charles is thrilled to have his first granddaughter. And on Wednesday, June 10, the royal grandfather, 66, was overheard bragging about 1-month-old Princess Charlotte at a tea he hosted with the Duchess of Cornwall Camilla at Clarence House for the pilots and aircrew who fought in WWII.
A guest at the event tells Us Weekly, the Prince of Wales gushed that Charlotte is less of a handful than her older brother, Prince George (now 22 months), was at her age.
“We were talking about grandchildren, and he was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night and it was much easier on mum than Prince George,” the invitee told Us after the event.
This isn’t the first time Prince Charles has been admittedly smitten with the family’s newest addition. Soon after Charlotte’s May 2 birth, Charles told a crowd at the opening of the Poundbury Cancer Institute, “I really was hoping for a girl. She is beautiful. I was hoping for a granddaughter. Someone to look after me when I am very old.”
