Got it from her mama! Reese Witherspoon posed for a photo with her look-alike daughter, Ava Phillippe, on Friday, Oct. 30, at the American Cinematheque Awards in L.A.
The Oscar-winning actress, 39, who was honored with this year’s American Cinematheque Award, stunned in a black Dolce & Gabbana dress alongside Phillippe, 16, a spitting image of her mom aside from her pink pastel hair, who wore a green dress.
“I was pretty stunned when they asked me, because I feel like I haven’t had a lifetime of achievements,” the Legally Blonde star told Us Weekly of being honored at the event, sponsored by Fiji Water. “I’ve had half of a life of achievements. It’s significant in that to be one of a handful of women asked to be here and given this honor. It’s really important to talk about women in film and how important it is to see women playing leads in movies.”
The mother of three — who shares Ava and son Deacon, 12, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, as well as son Tennessee, 2, with husband Jim Toth — also gushed about her family being there with her.
“It’s great,” the blonde beauty said. “They’ve never really seen me in very many films, so it should be interesting. I’m really proud of so much. Just the diversity of the characters I’ve played. My characters are like my friends.”
Recently, Witherspoon has been very vocal about wanting to bring back a certain beloved character —Elle Woods — for another Legally Blonde film.
“I actually think it’s kind of great right now because we’re talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women,” the Wild star told Rachel Zoe on Thursday, Oct. 22. “And I think it’d be kind of a cool thing to have Elle Woods be a Supreme Court Justice or somebody who runs for office, like president.”
