When Digital Photo Editor Kristen Vetter is not at AMI’s New York City office, she can be found on a beach somewhere, sipping on spicy margaritas and cranking some David Bowie on her speakers. She spends most of her leisure time photographing concerts (Beats Antique puts on the best show!) and hanging out with her dog Clementine. Kristen loves to document her travels, and while living in the Middle East, she had the privilege of capturing the historic Arab Spring and the Egyptian elections on camera, which was a definite highlight of her career as a photographer. On the rare occasion that she’s home, she’s painting and binging out on the latest true crime phenomenon.

Work or writing background leading to expertise

Kristen joined the AMI team in October 2018 as a digital photo editor. She focuses on InTouch Weekly, Life & Style and Closer.

Kristen spends her days making galleries for writers across brands and tracking down photos — usually of the 90 Day Fiancé cast, if she’s being realistic. She also enjoys making graphics like The Bachelorette Bracket or Us Weekly’s Hottest Hollywood Hunks. (Who wouldn’t enjoy that, really?)

Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and photography and minored in psychology at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Along with a colleague, Kathryn Carey, she was awarded a grant from Baltimore City to build Candy Chang’s “Before I Die Wall,” which encouraged the people of inner city Baltimore to share their goals and interests.

Work history

Kristen got her start freelancing as a photographer in 2013. She then took on a role at the Daily Mail in 2014 as a photo editor, which involved extensive research, editing, creating composites and making various graphics. In 2015, she and Brytnee Miller were awarded a grant from New York State to produce LIP Magazine — a Long Island culture and arts magazine. One of her favorite projects was planning Lip Magazine’s release party and working with local, musicians, artists, chiefs and brewers. Kristen’s photography has also been featured in Inked Magazine, Vanity Hype Magazine and Baltimore City Paper. You can find a portfolio of her work at
