Mom! Reese Witherspoon and ex-husband Ryan Phillippe’s kids, 15-year-old Ava and 11-year-old Deacon, haven’t seen Cruel Intentions yet — especially since mom and dad have a seriously steamy sex scene in the flick, the Oscar-winning actress revealed.
“They don’t have any interest in seeing me in movies. It’s weird for them,” the Hot Pursuit actress, 39, told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live! on Thursday, May 7. “They’re like, ‘This is so weird!’ And especially seeing me and their dad having sex. It’s so weird. Not interested.”
Witherspoon, who was married to Phillippe from 1999 to 2007, said she might take her kids to go see the recently debuted musical version of the iconic 1999 drama, in which her character loses her virginity to Phillippe’s.
“They have this Cruel Intentions play in L.A. that’s like a musical. So I was going to take them to that,” she added. “But they haven’t seen [the movie].”
Witherspoon, on the other hand, is open to taking in sex scenes by herself. While talking about Ben Affleck’s now-famous penis flash scene in Gone Girl, which she produced, she admitted: “I thought, ‘It’s great, it’s amazing, congratulations Jen Garner!'”
