New addition! Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey welcomed their second child together this week.
The happy couple are now parents to a newborn baby girl, Us Weekly can confirm. The Iron Man actor, 49, announced this past July that he and Susan, 40, were expecting a daughter.
“Um. I don’t know if it’s a ‘man’s world,’ but I’m certain women run it,” Downey Jr. said at the time. “Susan and I are therefore delighted to announce we are expecting a baby. Girl. November. rdj.”
The Academy Award-nominated actor and his film producer love kept busy in the days leading up to Susan’s birth. Just last Thursday, Oct. 30, the couple walked the red carpet at the Britannia Awards, with the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang producer sporting an impressive bump.
The Downeys, who tied the knot in August 2005, previously welcomed son Exton, 2, in February 2012. Downey Jr. is also the father to a 21-year-old son Indio, from his first marriage to Deborah Falconer.
The reformed partier has been outspoken about his desire to be a good father to his children.
“Does any new parent, even if you’re not a first-time parent, ever really know what to do?” he wondered to Esquire after the birth of Exton. “Only thing you have to do, the only requirement, if you can hack it, is to not transfer your own discomfort in the moment to this fresh soul, right?… You got to be mindful.”

“After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project,” he shared via Facebook. “Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, ‘Dad! You are embarrassing me…I’m 30, this has gotta stop.’ Yep… Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th… she’s 7lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan’s traits that have seemingly overwritten my ‘junk DNA.’ I’ll post pics here + there when I’m not too busy staring…”
