The very last episode of Fringe aired last month, and it was a bitter pill for the show's faithful fan base to swallow (especially after they brought the Fox sci-fi smash back from the chopping block). But the series finale of the show couldn't have been more serendipitous for actor Seth Gabel, who played Lincoln Lee — his wife Bryce Dallas Howard, 31, gave birth to their daughter Beatrice while the show was in production in Canada in January 2012.
"In the past seasons we would go out and party but this last one I'll admit I had a little less of that kind of 'fun" because my wife was near set and we had a baby up there in Vancouver," Gabel, also 31, told Us Weekly in a recent interview.
"I knew that she could go into labor at any minute, and we were in a different country so I didn't know if everything was going to work out well, it was a lot of stress," he admitted. "We weren't positive that the hospital was even going to accept us!"
Luckily for the couple, however, everything turned out alright, and their baby is now healthy at home in L.A. Gabel has since had a welcome return to work with both the finale of the CW's hit series Arrow alongside Janina Gavankar and a gritty new war movie about an AWOL soldier — played by Bow Wow — called Allegiance (available now on DVD!).
But little Beatrice, 12 months, won't be watching her father's shows anytime soon, according to Gabel: "Most of the stuff I've done isn't really age appropriate for her," he says. "I may wait until she's 30 or 40…"
Guess she'll just have to kill the time in-between watching grandfather Ron Howard's Oscar-winning movies instead?
