Bryce Dallas Howard

Bryce Dallas Howard is an actress and filmmaker known for her roles in the Jurassic World franchise, The Help and Spider-Man 3, as well as her work behind the camera directing film and television projects. Bryce is the eldest daughter of filmmaker Ron Howard and writer Cheryl Howard. She was raised primarily in New York and Connecticut and developed an interest in acting at a young age, attending Stagedoor Manor to train as an actress. After graduating from Byram Hills High School, she studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Bryce left school to pursue acting opportunities before returning and completing her degree in 2020.

Bryce began her career as an extra in her father’s films, including How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) before joining the New York theater circuit. She appeared in productions of shows like As You Like It before landing her breakout role in The Village (2004). She gained wider recognition with performances in Lady in the Water (2006), Spider-Man 3 (2007), Terminator Salvation (2009) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010). Her profile continued to rise with acclaimed roles in The Help (2011) and later as Claire Dearing in the blockbuster Jurassic World trilogy.

Bryce followed in her father’s footsteps, later expanding into directing with projects like Dads (2019) and episodes of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. In 2025, she directed the documentary Pets. Throughout her career, she has earned numerous accolades, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film for her performance in As You Like It.

Bryce met actor Seth Gabel while attending New York University. After dating for several years, the pair wed in 2006. They share two children: Theodore (born in 2007) and Beatrice (born in 2012).
