Back off, haters! It's been just a few hours since Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi exclusively revealed her second pregnancy to Us Weekly, but critics are already giving the Jersey Shore alum a hard time. Inundated with insults after Us broke news that she and fiance Jionni LaValle are expecting another baby, the MTV reality star took to her blog on Friday, April 4, to set the record straight on a few issues.
"I've read a lot of negativity concerning my second pregnancy, and I NEVER comment on what strangers think about my life, but when it concerns my family, something needs to be said," the pregnant-again 26-year-old wrote in the post. "I'm a momma bear and I will stick up for my family until the day I die, and even after that."
She went on to address the "hate" she's getting for simply "reproducing and being a mother." One criticism, in particular, bothers her more than others: that people think she "got pregnant to be 'selfish' and take the 'shine' way from JWoww." (Snooki's BFF Jenni "JWoww" Farley announced in December that she and fiance Roger Mathews are expecting their first child together, a baby girl.)
"Are you out of your minds? If you knew Jenni & I personally, you would know we always wanted to be pregnant together," Snooki wrote. "I love Jenni like my big sister, she is everything to me, not fame. I would never try to 'outshine' her and, like real women, we support each other and always want the best for each other, not beat each other down to see who can be more 'famous.'"
She added: "We have a true friendship that I will cherish forever, and getting pregnant just to outshine my best friend is absolutely absurd and disgusting." (Indeed, Snooki told Us Weekly that she is "so excited to go through this experience with [her] best friend.")
As for people who are upset that she and LaValle aren't married yet? "I'm so glad you are all concerned about our life, but we are doing fine, I assure you," she blogged. "We planned to have a second child before our wedding, and will indeed still be getting married in the fall of 2014. We are a committed family that will raise our children to be the best they can be and give them the best life we can give them."
"I would love to also mention that Jionni and I are VERY happy together. He's my best friend and I'm his," she continued, joking that she'd probably "stalk his ass" even in the afterlife. "He's a real man…The wedding is still on as scheduled and it will take the apocalypse to change that."
