Yvonne Strahovski has a new role: Mom! The Handmaid’s Tale actress, 36, and her photographer husband Tim Loden welcomed their first child, a boy boy, she revealed on Instagram on Monday, October 15.
“My heart has melted into a billion pieces a thousand times already,” she wrote, captioning the photo of she and her son. “We have been blessed with the greatest joy of our lives, our baby boy. Welcome to the world Peanut, your parents love you beyond measure and you are already my little dream boat. My heart has been stolen!”
A heavily pregnant Strahovski accidentally revealed the sex of her baby at the 2018 Emmy Awards on Monday, September 17. While joking about going into labor on the red carpet she told E!’s Giuliana Rancic: “I’m just gonna hold him in there and hope for the best.” Moments after the disclosure, she quipped, “I just let it slip earlier, didn’t I?”
The Chuck alum, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, announced her pregnancy in May with an Instagram photo of herself in a skintight maxi dress. “I’m going to be a Mama!” she wrote at the time. “So very excited to watch & feel this little Peanut growing every day.”
The Australia native, who plays a woman who can’t conceive in the dystopian Hulu series, concealed her growing stomach on set until it was no longer possible. “My first trimester was episode nine through to the end of The Handmaid’s Tale,” she explained on Australian show The Panel in May. “That’s why it got tricky. In the end I was just over hiding it so I said, ‘You know what, I’m pregnant.’”
Strahovski and Loden secretly tied the knot during the summer of 2017 after more than six years of dating.
