Storage Wars alum Darrell Sheets was well-known in the storage auction industry, but he kept much of his personal life under wraps before his death.
Us Weekly confirmed in April 2026 that Sheets had died at age 67 after an apparent suicide in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
“On April 22, 2026, at approximately 0200 hours, officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Chandler Drive in reference to a reported deceased individual,” a spokesperson for the Lake Havasu City Police Department told Us. “Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”
Sheets, also known by his nickname “The Gambler,” appeared on 163 episodes of A&E’s Storage Wars between 2010 and 2023.
A spokesperson for A&E told Us, “We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Was ‘Storage Wars’ Star Darrell Sheets Married?
Sheets was previously married to Kimber Wuerfel until their divorce in 2016. Not much is known about the exes’ relationship leading up to their split. However, they appeared to be on good terms in the years that followed, as Wuerfel often appeared on Sheets’ social media. He frequently referred to her as “my girl” and “babe,” seemingly hinting at a possible reconciliation.
“Please join me in wishing Kimber a very Happy Birthday Kimber Howell Wuerfel on the lords Day also Happy Birthday Babe love you more than you know,” Sheets wrote via Instagram in December 2023.

Following his split from Wuerfel, Sheets was reportedly engaged to Romney Snyder in 2016. It’s unclear when they split.
In 2025, Sheets was in a relationship with Patty Rich, although they appeared to have split prior to his death.

Darrell was a father of two kids: son Brandon Sheets, who appeared with him on Storage Wars, and daughter Tiffany Shane Sheets.
Brandon starred alongside Darrell on Storage Wars from 2010 to 2016. “Opting for a GED instead of a formal education, Brandon chose to get his smarts from the storage auction world,” his A&E bio reads. “Having learned the trade from his father Darrell, Brandon knows as much about antiques and artifacts as most in the collectibles business.”
Unlike Brandon, Tiffany has remained out of the spotlight. According to Darrell’s social media, Tiffany has a daughter named Zoie, whom Darrell has raised.
“Today will be Zoies mother Tiffany’s 38th birthday, too bad she’s not around to see what a great kid Zoie is turning out to be, like buying her own car at 16, well Happy birthday wherever you are Tiffany Shane Sheets #storagewars,” Darrell wrote via Facebook alongside a photo of Zoie in the driver’s seat of a car in 2020.
