Zoë Kravitz and her mom, Lisa Bonet, take twinning to the next level. The Big Little Lies star, 30, Instagrammed a selfie with Bonet, 51, on Sunday, December 2 — and fans couldn’t get over the uncanny resemblance.
“My pal,” Kravitz, who celebrated her birthday on Saturday, December 1, captioned the picture, in which she and the Cosby Show alum are both make-up free and wearing red. Hundreds of people commented with one word: “Twins.” Others remarked on Bonet’s youthful glow. As one woman gushed: “Lisa is an ageless true beauty inside out.”
Bonet and Zoë’s dad, Lenny Kravitz, split in 1993 after six years of marriage. The Different World alum is also mom of Lola, 11, and Nakoa-Wolf, 9, with husband Jason Momoa.
Back in 2011, Zoë gushed about Bonet’s decision to take a break from Hollywood after The Cosby Show ended in 1991. “She walked away from being famous, because she didn’t really care about it,” the Fantastic Beasts actress revealed in ASOS magazine. “She is the most true artist I have met. She doesn’t change for anybody.”
Growing up with Bonet as a mother and rocker Kravitz as a father wasn’t always easy. “When your mom and dad are both so cool, but you’re not, I think maybe that’s where I get this idea that I’m not really cool,” she admitted to Rolling Stone in October. “That has stuck with me forever.”
Zoë acknowledged to Rolling Stone that she had “opportunities” because of her famous family. “But that can lead to self-doubt,” she explained. “I then had to work very hard to earn my reputation based on my talent.”
The L.A. native struggled with “loving” herself when she was “16, 17, 18.” Some of it had to do with Bonet. As she told Rolling Stone: “My mother’s a beautiful woman and I think, in some way, I felt intimidated by that sometimes.”
Zoë revealed last month that she is engaged to actor Karl Glusman.
