In the City stars Yvonne Najor and Nick Barber are savoring every moment of parenthood, including the design of their baby’s nursery.
“I teamed up with one of my closest friends, Jackie Young, the incredibly talented founder of JMY Interiors, a New York City-based interior design firm,” Yvonne, 40, exclusively shared with Us. “Jackie has also designed the apartments of my BFF Lindsay Hubbard, including her daughter Gemma’s nursery, so I knew we were going to have the best time creating something special for Leo.”
From the very beginning, the Bravo star envisioned her baby boy Leo’s nursery to feel like “stepping into a cloud — soft, dreamy, whimsical and incredibly calming.”
“I wanted a room that felt sophisticated and beautifully designed, but still warm and inviting. Almost like a big hug,” Yvonne explained. “I’ve always called Leo my little lion, so Jackie also came up with the sweetest idea to incorporate little lion details throughout the room. Those personal touches are what make the space so meaningful.”
In the first months of parenthood, Nick, 34, is not only impressed with his wife’s vision for the nursery. He applauds her skills as a mom as they navigate a new chapter of life — together.
“Yvonne has such a natural instinct when it comes to Leo. She seems to know exactly what he needs, whether it’s comforting him, making him smile or just being there for him,” he told Us. “She’s incredibly attentive and patient, and I love watching the little connection they have. You can see how safe and happy he feels with her, and I think that says everything about the kind of mom she is.”
As fans eagerly wait for season 2 of In the City, which was officially renewed at Bravo Fan Fest on October 23, Yvonne and Nick are giving Us an exclusive look inside their nursery.
