Oh, Adam, why? During The Voice on Monday, Oct. 12, Adam Levine debuted a new look — a shaved head — that sent the Internet reeling with sorrow.
Once fans saw that the Maroon 5 frontman had no hair, they, well, freaked out. Levine’s good friend and fellow judge on the show, Blake Shelton, also chimed in on the singer’s new look.
“Thank goodness #Gandhi was there… #adamsbald,” the country superstar, 39, joked on Twitter.
In response, the “Moves Like Jagger” singer, 36, took to Twitter to address the issue of his bald head and all the commotion surrounding it.
“Excuse me,” the rocker tweeted. “Lex Luthor was bald. I have ‘shaved’ my head. Meaning, shaved by choice. Big difference. OK?!! OK?!!”
This isn’t the first time Levine has shaved his head. In May 2012, The Voice mentor showed off a bald look for the first time.
“I shaved my head,” Levine tweeted then. “Sometimes it’s just necessary, like an emotional reboot. It’ll grow back.”
