Just like animals? Adam Levine survived a scary attack from an over-eager fan earlier this week, and in a new interview with pal Carson Daly for the Today show, the Maroon 5 singer opened up about the disturbing encounter.

“She ran full speed at me, and I was singing and, like I said, I was not aware of her existence at all,” Levine, 36, recalled.

“Where was your security?” his Voice costar Christina Aguilera asked.

“Good question!” he replied, flinging his hands up.

As seen in videos of the encounter, which have now gone viral, Levine first pushed the intense fan away before putting his arm around her until a member of security finally got on stage and escorted her off.

“She was on me, and then I kind of had to deal with it,” the Voice coach explained. “I looked at her, and I held her shoulders, and I was like ‘You need to calm down, please calm down. Relax.’ And I put my arm around her and then by that time, someone had managed to make their way up there.”
